About the school

The School is located at Dvergsnestangen, on grounds of Kristiansand Feriesenter, quiet surroundings with the ocean on three sides. The school has many exciting courses and it offers beautiful apartments, cottages and rooms in the motel with their own private bathrooms - all at the same place. Food is a small chapter in itself, everything is made from scratch, and we believe our meals keep hotel standards. As a student at Kristiansand Folkehøyskole you can enjoy staying by the seaside while still being close to the city of Kristiansand.

The school has a very high standard on their living units. You can choose between double or single rooms at the dormitory or share an apartment with other students. Double rooms are in apartments (2 bedrooms per apartment) and they are with normal living and kitchen areas with basic equipment. 5 of the apartments have also a large loft, so those will accomodate 6 students unit. Single rooms are in the motel (with private bathroom) or in motel cabins (2 bedrooms and shared bathroom and livingroom) At the motel, there are 2 shared kitchens you may use if necessary. It is not allowed to put nails in the walls, and there is limited storage.

  • Layout: the list is not published until school starts.
  • There is not very much room for clothing in the lockers. Feel free to bring bedrollers to store under the bed.
  • Bring linen, towels and toiletries.
  • The school has the neccesary equipment for washing common areas and individual rooms.
  • We have laundry facilities for use by students. Bring detergents to wash your own clothes, and preferably a clothes horse

The buildings at Kristiansand Folkehøyskole are owned by Kristiansand Feriesenter (please visit their website for info). Caretaker, property manager and teachers have the right to access the rooms as part of controlling the equipment and overall cleanliness.
